  40. We would like to thank everyone who responded to our recent e-mail
  41. regarding  the  Workshop  on Temporal Databases (WOTDB).  All the
  42. responses we have received (and there were many)  were  positive.
  43. It appears that  there  is a great interest in this workshop from
  44. both sides of the Atlantic.  Because of the large  number  of  e-
  45. mails we  have received  it became increasingly more difficult to
  46. respond to each of you individually.  However, we would  like  to
  47. thank  each  and  everyone who has warmly responded to our e-mail
  48. and for the many offers of help and support.
  49.  
  50. The following is a short note to keep you informed of our activi-
  51. ties  and  to solicit your input to further develop the scope and
  52. topics of interest of WOTDB.
  53.  
  54. 1.  The  WOTDB organizational meeting is confirmed for Thursday
  55.     June 4, 1992 at 10 AM.  It would be held in the same resort
  56.     hotel as the PODS/SIGMOD conference.   The room will be
  57.     announced later.
  58.  
  59. 2.  If you  DON'T  want to be in our e-mail list, please let us
  60.     know  asap.  Also, if  this e-mail is  being  forwarded  to
  61.     you (  i.e.,   you  are  not  receiving  it  directly  from 
  62.     "pissinou@pollux.usc.edu" ) and you  want your  name to  be 
  63.     added to the WOTDB e-mail list, again let us know asap.

  65. 3.  Several of  you have  indicated that you won't be attending
  66.     SIGMOD  this  year  and asked  whether  attendance  were  a
  67.     prelude  to  taking an  active role  in  organizing  this
  68.     workshop.  The answer here is no.
  69.  
  70. 4.  If you are not attending our SIGOMD meeting, we would like
  71.     to take this opportunity to solicit input from each of you
  72.     regarding activities that you would like us to bring up at
  73.     this meeting.  Please send  us your thoughts,  comments or
  74.     suggestions by May 27, so that we would be able to discuss
  75.     these at the meeting;  please be as  brief  and as concise
  76.     as possible.

  78. 5.  We also like to take this opportunity to solicit your input
  79.     regarding "topics of interest" and "scope of the workshop."
  80.     Again, please be as specific as possible and  remember that
  81.     we need to keep this workshop as focused as possible.

  84.     greatly appreciated.  If you have offered  to help and have
  85.     not mentioned in what capacity, please  let us know as soon
